Working in Surrey
Surrey is one of the largest and fastest-growing cities in Metro Vancouver, and its homes are just as varied: newer family homes in Fleetwood and Cloverdale, townhomes, and a growing number of high-rise condos around Surrey City Centre. Many houses also have basements that are finished as extra living space.
That makes basement work a common project: framing, insulation, drywall, painting and flooring, taken from bare walls to a finished space. If you are planning a suite, check the City of Surrey's requirements for secondary suites before you start, because they have their own rules.
Newer homes often need finishing rather than rebuilding: drywall repairs, repainting, trim and flooring. Older homes in established neighbourhoods such as Whalley and Guildford may need walls and ceilings repaired before they are painted. Depending on the scope, work may need a permit from the City of Surrey, and we will tell you what we think applies.
